Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant - Citrix Support DC Ops SME
In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of Citrix services, while also providing guidance and support to the broader IT team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Citrix technologies and extensive experience in managing, optimizing, and troubleshooting Citrix environments within a data center setting.
Responsibilities
β€’ Design, deploy, and manage Citrix infrastructure, including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (formerly XenApp and XenDesktop), Citrix ADC (formerly NetScaler), Citrix Gateway, and related components.
β€’ Oversee the day-to-day operations of Citrix environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
β€’ Implement and manage Citrix policies, profiles, and security settings to ensure a secure and compliant environment.
β€’ Monitor Citrix environments for performance issues, resource utilization, and potential bottlenecks using tools like Citrix Director, Citrix ADM, and other monitoring solutions.
β€’ Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Citrix infrastructure, including user connectivity, application delivery, and system performance.
β€’ Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement permanent fixes.
β€’ Analyze and optimize Citrix environments to improve performance, user experience, and resource utilization.
β€’ Conduct capacity planning to ensure that Citrix environments can scale to meet current and future demands.
β€’ Implement best practices for Citrix infrastructure, including load balancing, redundancy, and failover strategies.
β€’ Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks, such as provisioning, patching, and monitoring of Citrix environments.
β€’ Utilize tools like PowerShell, Citrix Studio, and Citrix Command Center to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
β€’ Work closely with network, storage, and server teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of Citrix services within the broader data center environment.
β€’ Provide expert-level support and guidance to IT teams and end-users, assisting with escalated issues and complex problem-solving.
β€’ Collaborate with security teams to ensure that Citrix environments meet all relevant security standards and compliance requirements.
β€’ Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Citrix environments, including architecture diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
β€’ Conduct training sessions and workshops for IT staff on Citrix technologies, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
β€’ Stay updated on the latest Citrix products, features, and industry trends, and share knowledge with the team.
β€’ Develop and implement disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans for Citrix environments.
β€’ Regularly test DR plans to ensure that Citrix services can be quickly restored in the event of a disruption.


Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
β€’ Strong experience in IT infrastructure or data center operations, with a strong focus on Citrix technologies.
β€’ Proven experience in managing large-scale Citrix environments, including Virtual Apps and Desktops, ADC, and Gateway.
β€’ Experience with Citrix cloud solutions is a plus.
β€’ Deep expertise in Citrix products, including Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix ADC, Citrix Gateway, and Citrix Workspace.
β€’ Strong understanding of networking, storage, and virtualization technologies as they relate to Citrix environments.
β€’ Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell or similar languages.
β€’ Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
β€’ Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization (CCP-V)
β€’ Citrix Certified Expert – Virtualization (CCE-V)
β€’ Citrix Certified Professional – Networking (CCP-N)
β€’ Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
β€’ Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
β€’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
β€’ Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments.
