A leading Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Analyst (Principal Cyber Security Analyst) to join its high-performing Cyber Operations Section. This is a critical role protecting a global network from malicious actors and contributing to national cyber resilience. The successful candidate will be offered a 12-month contract with potential extensions and a lucrative hourly rate!

As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will:

• Operationalise logs and create use cases for new systems and log sources.
• Monitor and enhance cyber security systems and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain cyber security playbooks.
• Analyse security events and logs to detect anomalies and recommend countermeasures.
• Lead incident response and remediation efforts.
• Support threat hunting and collaborate with threat intelligence teams.

To be successful, you will have:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Cyber Security Analyst.
• Strong background in incident response and threat detection.
• Experience with threat intelligence feeds and technical documentation.
• Experience with Splunk SOAR and Risk-Based Alerting (RBA).
• Microsoft, Splunk, or technical tertiary qualifications.
