Job Description

As our new Sr. Designer – BIM Marine & Civil Engineering you will be part of a world class, innovation driven engineering design centre owned by an independent trust and its employees. REC is a highly sophisticated centre of engineering excellence and based in our office in Bengaluru. Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, the Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a centre for excellence in design by offering optimized solutions to the rest of the organization.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Together with your colleagues in object and structural planning, you develop structures in Marine and Civil Engineering, from the initial ideas in the preliminary planning phase to the detailed construction in the implementation planning phase.
  • Assist in providing guidance and knowledge to juniors within your team.
  • Coordinate with project managers and/or engineers for BIM modelling and drawing tasks in each project, both within REC and in Germany.
  • Work on preliminary up to detailed drawings for a range of projects and varying complexity.
  • To create the required models and drawings, you have a variety of modern tools at your disposal, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Tekla, Revit, Inventor, MicroStation, etc., which you can use depending on the task.
  • Exercise self-discipline and work ethics.
  • Respect and follow company policies and procedures.

    • Qualifications

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering with more than 6 years of professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM and CAD tools such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla is essential, knowledge of European/German detailing and modelling standards would be desirable.
  • Experience in preparing General arrangement Drawings, Steel/Reinforcement detailing drawings, concrete and excavation 3D models and BOQs.
  • Should have knowledge of concrete detailing standards.
  • Experience in preparation of drawings for transportation projects such as tunnels, port structures, underground structures, pumping stations, or bridge structures is a must.
  • Must have experience in international projects, preferably for Germany.
  • Have a high affinity for IT and are motivated to use the variety of available software efficiently and in a results-oriented manner.
  • Self-motivated, team player and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Flexible attitude, in an environment with frequently changing deadlines can be relied on to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla and good level of written and spoken English and German.
