Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Test Engineer to support the design, development, and verification of advanced spaceflight avionics systems.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep experience in electrical test systems, ground support equipment (EGSE), hardware/software integration, and automated test development in a regulated aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) including hardware, software, and documentation
- Select and integrate COTS test instruments, custom test enclosures, and cabling
- Ensure test hardware validates all contractual and design requirements of the Unit Under Test (UUT)
- Support testing of avionics systems including Single Board Computers (SBCs), analog/digital I/O, C&DH systems, and Electrical Power Systems (EPS)
- Develop test interfaces for subsystems involving power switching, solar array switching, and battery charging

Contribute to hardware design reviews and system integration efforts
- Develop LabVIEW VIs for instrument control, monitoring, telemetry, and user interfaces

Create Python or PERL scripts for automated test execution
- Interface with VxWorks-based systems and support integration with embedded C code

Collaborate on FPGA-related test efforts (VHDL familiarity preferred)
- Create and maintain schematics, cable drawings, assembly instructions, and parts lists
- Author formal Integration & Test Plans, Environmental Test Plans, and Acceptance Test Procedures
- Maintain documentation using company-controlled systems and standard tools (Visio, Excel, Word)

Work cross-functionally with engineering disciplines and program teams

Mentor junior engineers in test development, debugging, and execution

Take ownership of schedules, deliverables, and technical outcomes
Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7–10+ years of experience in electrical test engineering or aerospace systems testing

Strong programming experience in LabVIEW, C, Python, or PERL
- Experience with circuit board design, electrical schematics, and cable drawings

Knowledge of embedded systems and hardware/software integration

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Visio
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in regulated environments
