Job Description

WSP India is currently seeking for a dynamic resource for the Principal Engineer position for our Bridges group in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate should be ambitious, dynamic, proactive and demonstrate technical and managerial leadership skills for this role. This position will give the successful applicant the opportunity to lead team with including multi-disciplinary skills; lead on a variety of projects including design-bid build and alternative-delivery projects, The selected Principal Engineer will work alongside our Canadian Managers (Eastern; Qubec and Western Canada) and the local T&I lead on the technical outputs of the team. The position will report to the Bridge Lead lead in iCRC.

+ Project management, technical leadership and timely delivery of technical outputs from inception to completion with a range of internal colleagues including:
+ Act as the ‘face’ of the India-based T&I Canada iCRC Bridges team
+ Local health and safety, welfare, risk, information security, and assessment/compliance
+ Interfacing with multi-disciplinary project teams; program and financial management
+ Provide highly visible, inspirational leadership and direction for the iCRC Bridges team and ensuring that it is aligned with the wider CA business
+ Mentoring team members towards professional accreditation or equivalent
+ Recruitment to achieve budgeted and programmed team growth
+ Monitor and review team capability in the use of the required standards, processes and software tools and, with technical colleagues, identify training required
+ Contribute to the design of operational processes, systems, quality measurement processes and achievement of KPIs
+ Ensure process and governance such that all projects comply with Health and Safety, CDM and Quality Assurance Standards.
+ Carry out audits of adherence to WSP India Management and Quality processes and implement corrective measures where required

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

+ Educated to Bachelor / Master’s degree level in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering.
+ Chartered/Professional Engineer status of a recognised professional institution. (e.g. PE, P.Eng. / C.Eng) or demonstaring progression towards achieving or ability to acquire Professional Engineer Licence with any of the Canadian Provinces.
+ Seasoned professional with at least 13 years’ diverse experience in infrastructure design, project management, business development and project delivery or in leadership in a consulting engineering environment.
