Principal Engineer - OLE

To undertake Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) design & engineering activities within the group, Lead the OLE team for projects independently, analyse the project requirements and provide input to the project manager in respect of both design and consultancy services. To provide technical support and assistance.

Responsibilities

Undertaking of tasks as assigned, in particular:

• Delivering OLE (design and consultancy) Projects and lead the project teams based in Bengaluru
• Responsible for OLE inputs/outputs to Rail engineering (design and consultancy) projects
• Responsible to contributr OLE engineering input to multi-disciplinary railway engineering (design and consultancy) projects
• Independantly handle Overhead line electrification projects and guide /mentor the OLE team
• Expertise in Preparation, checking and review of Layout plans, Bonding plans, cross sections, switching cross sections, Yard designs, clearance studies, Project report preparation, Bridge calculations and profiling.
• Expertise in Overhead wiring design related calculations. Undertake all the OLE related calculations on project and ensure the compliances
• Interact with other rail disciplines and gather/provide design related information
• Contribute to developing WSP company expertise in OLE engineering and Rail Engineering
• Observation of company quality and project management disciplines and procedures, as relevant to tasks undertaken
• In all activities to contribute to the development of WSP business in the field of railway infrastructure engineering
• Where relevant, observation of learning and development objectives as per Career Development Plan
• Train and mentor Graduate and Junior engineers.
• Communicate Effectively with the lead country.
• Organise Knowledge share and lesson’s learnt sessions from projects/tasks.
• Participate in Internal and External Audit preparations.
• Report writing, Design Calculations and Inter disciplinary meetings to be handled effectively on projects
• Compliance with company safety and ethics policies.
• Ensure the Project delivery with quality and time bound. Responsible for team’s output quality and project submission time adherence

Key Competencies / Skills

• 12-20 years of Experience in OLE design Australian geography experience will be preferred
• Proficient with AutoCad and Microstation
• Excellent mentoring skills
• Excellent communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical
• Proficient with MS office specially Power point
• Professionally accreditated
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Quality and safety oriented design skills with on time delivery approach
