Position Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to be a
Principal Frontend Engineer
in a high-growth, AI-native product company.
You will play a critical role in building
Prophecy’s core product experience , including sophisticated and high-performance user interfaces used daily by data engineers and analysts at scale. While Prophecy is becoming increasingly agentic and AI native, this role is fundamentally about strong frontend engineering and product craftsmanship.
You will design and build complex UI systems where AI agents augment workflows through reviews, suggestions, refinements, and collaboration. We are looking for engineers who want end-to-end ownership, enjoy ambiguity, and thrive in fast-moving startup environments.
The impact you will have
Build the Best Agentic and Low-Code IDE for Data Analysts:
Design and build an AI-native IDE that allows data analysts to create, understand, and evolve data pipelines without writing code. Focus on intuitive visual abstractions, guided workflows, and review-driven experiences, while ensuring the platform continues to generate transparent, production-grade code for engineering users.
Design/Develop/Deliver:
End-to-End Ownership : Own features end to end from design through implementation, testing, and release. You will build production-grade frontend systems that power Prophecy’s visual builders, editors, and agentic flows.
Over Achiever :
In Prophecy we encourage and give environments to engineers to overachieve their own limits. Set up your own metrics, and improve them iteratively under the guidance of senior expert engineers.
Entrepreneurial skills :
Own the features end to end as a founder/ceo from the requirement to delivery. We don’t believe in hierarchy, the number of years of experience. Manage your own career growth.
What You'll Need
8-10 years of frontend engineering experience
Experience building complex and product-grade UI applications.
Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend ecosystems.
Good expertise in building atomic reusable components and Design system.
Strong understanding of frontend architecture, performance, and security.
Experience with testing, CI/CD, and developer experience tooling.
Working understanding of AI concepts and how they are used in product experiences.
Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills
Great problem-solving skills
Entrepreneurial spirit, priding yourself on getting things done with a high level of quality
Comfort working in fast-moving startup environments with high ownership
B Tech or above degree in CS or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in building Sass Products
Experience building agentic or AI-assisted product experiences
Experience in Infinite canvas/graph libraries
Experience in real-time apps (Websocket communications)
Experience in building LowCode IDEs/ Editors
You have worked on architecting and developing a complex UI application. If you're from the team that built Visual Studio code, Figma or Webflow like products it'll be great.
You've built good development practices including building unit and integrations tests
You write neat, precise, and high-quality code at a very good pace
