We are building a next-generation annotation platform designed for AV and ADAS applications. It unifies large-scale data ingestion, workflow orchestration, AI-assisted annotation, and high performance visualization into a seamless, real-time web environment that handles complex multi-sensor and multi-modal data sources.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Graphics Engineer to lead the design and optimization of a high-performance, browser-based visualization engine for multi-sensor data annotation. You will architect GPU pipelines that deliver real-time 3 D rendering for Li DAR, RADAR, and video data, and drive innovation in how users visualize, edit, and validate complex 3 D environments.
This is a principal-level, hands-on engineering role that also influences technical strategy, design direction, and mentorship within the graphics and visualization team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design: Architect and optimize Web GPU/Web GL rendering pipelines for large-scale point clouds and sensor-fusion visualization.
- Performance Optimization: Lead the optimization efforts for rendering massive 3 D point clouds (millions of points) in real-time usingtechniques like frustumculling, level- of-detail (LOD), spatial partitioning (e.g., octrees/k-d trees), and instancing.
- Shader Development: Design, write, and maintain high-performance, complex GLSL/WGSL shadersfor both rendering and compute tasks (e.g., color mapping, depth processing, data manipulation, and custom visualization effects).
- API Mastery: Serve as the subject matterexpert for three.js, Web GL 2.0, and the emerging Web GPU standard.
- Geometry Management: Expertly manipulate and optimize three.js Primitives (e.g., Box Geometry, Points, Line Segments) for memory efficiency and rendering speed, especially when dealing with dynamic annotation tools.
- Real-Time Processing: Implement on-device data processing, filtering, and
transformation logic directlywithin the GPU compute pipeline, minimizing CPU overhead
- Code Quality& Architecture: Establish best practices for 3 D rendering code, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience building GPU-accelerated graphicsapplications around Typescript/Javascript.
- Proficiency in GLSL shader programming, Web GL 2.0 and Web GPU.
- Expert-level proficiency with three.js and extensiveexperience writing custom, performant rendering logic.
- Deep understanding of 3 D mathematics, camera models, and real-time rendering pipelines.
- Mastery of three.js geometricprimitives including efficient use of Buffer Geometry, attribute buffers, and techniques for instanced rendering.
- Experience optimizing performance bottlenecks in CPU/GPU rendering pipelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven abilityto mentor othersand influence design decisions.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with point-cloud libraries (Potree, Open3 D, PCL).
- Understanding of multi-sensor data synchronization and streaming architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Awareness of distributed systemsor backend data services supporting visualization.
