Job Description
The Principal Mining Engineer provides senior technical leadership and strategic direction for mine planning, design, and execution across operating and development assets globally. This role is responsible for ensuring engineering excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with corporate objectives, while mentoring engineering teams and supporting long-term mine optimization and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and review life-of-mine (LOM) plans, mine designs, production schedules, and economic evaluations for underground and/or open pit operations.
- Provide expert-level input on mine methods, sequencing, ventilation concepts, ground control strategies, and material handling systems.
- Oversee and approve technical studies including PEA, PFS, FS, and NI 43-101 technical reports.
- Ensure mine designs optimize safety, productivity, cost efficiency, and resource recovery.
