The Opportunity

The Professional Services organization is looking for qualified candidates for the position of Principal Solution Architect. The Solution Architect plays a pivotal role within Professional Services, serving as the bridge between a customer’s strategic vision and the successful delivery of that vision through Planview products and solutions. As the first responder post-sale, the Principal Solution Architect translates sales commitments into real-world value, engaging with C‑level executives, guiding implementation teams, and designing scalable, outcome‑driven solutions. This role requires strong industry knowledge, business acumen, and the ability to lead customers through strategic decision-making while ensuring the integrity and success of the solution design.


What You'll Do

  • Value Realization: Ensure implementations deliver maximum value.
  • Capability Scope Selection: Recommend the right capabilities, products, and solutions aligned to customer needs.
  • System Connectivity & Integrations: Define the high‑level integration approach and ensure seamless system connectivity.
  • Documentation: Produce high‑quality scope documents, diagrams, and guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Partner with implementation consultants, integration teams, product experts, and training resources. Collaborates / provides and obtains feedback to / from sales, renewals, marketing, product teams, customer success, services and strategic partners on a regular basis
  • Continuous Improvement: Assess implemented solutions and identify opportunities to optimize.
  • Scalability: Design for future growth and capability expansion.
  • Design & Planning: Develop high‑level architectural designs, data flow concepts, and scalability considerations.
  • Analysis: Document the functional scope and partner with stakeholders to refine needs.
  • Value Blueprinting: Contribute to pre‑sales and post‑sales value definition and transition.
  • Execution & Delivery Support: Guide implementation teams, validate scripts, and support customer enablement.
  • Coaching: Support customers in operationalizing capabilities and adopting best practices.
  • On Time & On Budget: Work closely with Planview Engagement Managers and Implementation team in delivering solutions on time, on budget in accordance with customer expectation.
  • Mentor and Monitor: Project team consultants and partners who may be assigned to implementations.
  • Thought Leadership: Develops and delivers thought leadership content (blogs, whitepapers, webinars, etc.).

  • What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in solution architecture, consulting, or enterprise system design.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, integrations, and business workflows.
  • Ability to lead discussions with C‑level and senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into actionable solution designs.
  • Experience supporting delivery teams in complex implementations.
  • Track record on managing customer expectations and delivering to a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to mentor peers
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Planview products or similar PPM/Work Management platforms.
  • Background in enterprise portfolio management, strategic planning, or process optimization.
  • Experience designing scalable, cross‑functional architectures that include AI.
  • Experience designing enterprise, platform solutions
  • Familiarity with Agile, Lean, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
