    The Role
     

    you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

  • The Offshore Principal Structural Engineer provides technical leadership and governance for offshore structural engineering across multiple projects. The role is responsible for concept selection, detailed design oversight, advanced analysis, code compliance, risk management, and mentoring of engineering teams, while acting as a technical authority for complex offshore structures.

  • Lead the offshore structural engineering team, providing effective guidance and support in the analysis of Fixed Template Jacket Structures, Lifted Topsides, and Float Over Topsides. Ensure all analyses for in-service, pre-service, and accidental cases are conducted accurately and efficiently.

  • Coordinate with engineers and designers to facilitate the timely issuance of structural deliverables, adhering to the contract scope of work. Ensure deliverables meet all budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

  • Liaise with various stakeholders including EPC contractors, end user clients, installation contractors, marine warranty surveyors, and independent verification bodies to ensure smooth project execution and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers and designers, fostering collaboration among all project participants and maintaining strong communication with EPC contractors, client representatives, and independent verification entities.

  • Act as Discipline Technical Authority (DTA) for offshore structural engineering.

  • Define design philosophies, analysis strategies, and acceptance criteria.

  • Review and approve concept, FEED, detailed design, and as-built deliverables.

  • Resolve complex technical issues and approve deviations and concessions.

  • Lead design optimization and value engineering initiatives.

  • Establish best practices, checklists, and technical guidelines. Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

  • About You

    To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • A minimum of 20 to 30 years of experience as an Offshore Structural Engineer, with a proven track record of leading major FEED/EPC projects for reputable end user clients.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the analysis and design of Fixed Template Structures, FPSO modules and Offshore renewables (wind, hydrogen, CCS).
  • Experience serving as Lead Structural Engineer for at least three major offshore platforms or FPSOs.
  • Must have fair knowledge on geotechnical aspects related to fixed offshore structures and subsea structures
  • Must have fair knowledge of structural steel material grades and testing requirements
  • Must have experience in supporting procurement activities like preparation of RFQs and review the vendor documents and generate TBEs for all the structural items including Steel Plates, hotrolled sections, welded tubualrs, EADs, Groutseals, LMUs, Anodes etc.
  • Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Float Over and Lifted Topsides, as well as launched and lifted jackets.
  • Proficient in weight control management for offshore structures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current offshore design codes, including ISO 19901, ISO 19902, AISC-360, and relevant API (WAS & LRFD) and DNV codes.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SACS, SESAM, USFOS, ANSYS, ABAQUS, STAAD.
