PERSOL is proud to partner with a top-tier mining operator in the Pilbara to recruit an experienced Principal Track & Civil Engineer for a senior technical leadership role within a heavy haul rail environment.

Pay Range: $120hr - $165 hr + Super

Roster: Monday to Friday in Perth, with travel to site as required.

Preferred start date: Late Feb-26

Contract: Initial 6 months contract potential for on-going work

The Role

This senior contract position provides technical leadership across major rail network renewals and upgrade projects. You will be responsible for ensuring track and civil scopes are delivered effectively in line with engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead track and civil design, reviews, and technical approvals.
  • Provide engineering oversight for rail renewals, upgrades, and shutdown works.
  • Develop scopes of work and support contractor delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with rail standards, safety, and engineering governance.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement, quality outcomes, and cost efficiency.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Track Engineering.
  • 15+ years' experience in track and civil engineering within heavy haul rail or rail infrastructure environments.
  • Strong background in rail maintenance, renewals, and project delivery.
  • Sound knowledge of rail standards, track access, and possession environments.
  • Proven technical authority with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
