Principal Transmission Line Engineer

Jacobs is seeking a motivated Principal Technical Leader to join our dynamic APAC Transmission and Distribution team in Australia. As Technical Leader for Transmission Lines, you will spearhead the planning, design, and construction of cutting-edge overhead transmission line projects across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex transmission line projects from conception to completion, establishing design criteria and methodologies for project teams.
  • Undertake design activities associated with the planning, design, and construction of overhead transmission lines.
  • Support the technical reviews of deliverables, attend and participate in project and client meetings.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to project teams on the design of overhead transmission lines, manage technical risks and mentor local and global engineering teams.
  • Drive business growth through proposal development and client engagement, finding innovative solutions, championing value and sustainability.

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of the PLS software suite to perform design and review work.
  • Understanding of AS/NZS, Client SDMs, ASCE, IEEE and IEC codes and guidelines.
  • Extensive experience in transmission line engineering and project delivery.
  • Proven track record in managing large, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Open communication style with project leadership skills and the ability to work across geographies.
  • Technically innovative with a focus on continuous improvement.
