Requirements Role Overview The Head Printing & Dyeing will lead and manage end-to-end printing and dyeing operations, ensuring consistent quality, colour accuracy, process efficiency, and adherence to brand standards. This role requires deep technical expertise in traditional and modern dyeing/printing techniques, vendor management, and strong coordination with design, production, and quality teams. Key Responsibilities Production & Process Management Lead end-to-end printing and dyeing operations across in-house units and external job workers. Plan and monitor production schedules to meet delivery timelines without compromising quality. Ensure consistency in shade, colour fastness, and finish across batches. Oversee sampling, lab dips, strike-offs, and approvals before bulk production. Technical & Quality Control Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for dyeing, printing, washing, and finishing. Troubleshoot colour, shade, and process-related issues during production. Ensure compliance with quality benchmarks for luxury textiles. Maintain documentation for recipes, shade cards, and process parameters. Vendor & Team Management Manage and develop a network of dyeing and printing vendors/artisans. Evaluate vendor capability, quality performance, and cost efficiency. Train and mentor in-house teams and artisans on best practices and process improvements. Coordination & Cross-Functional Work Work closely with Design, Merchandising, and Production Planning teams. Translate design concepts into feasible dyeing and printing processes. Support sampling, collection development, and new fabric innovations. Compliance & Sustainability Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and compliance norms. Promote sustainable dyeing practices and responsible chemical usage. Desired Candidate Profile 1015 years of hands-on experience in printing and dyeing within textile, handloom, or luxury fashion segments. Strong knowledge of natural dyes, reactive dyes, pigment printing, and traditional Indian printing techniques (block, screen, discharge, etc.). Experience working with silk, cotton, blends, and specialty fabrics. Strong understanding of colour science, shade matching, and fabric behaviour. Proven leadership and vendor management skills. Exposure to luxury or export-oriented brands preferred. Education Degree/Diploma in Textile Technology / Textile Chemistry / Fashion Technology or related field. Location Kolkata (with travel to vendor locations as required)
