Process Technician

Duration: 6-month contract with possible extension Job Description: The successful applicant will combine hands-on experience with scientific principles to provide technical support to engineers involved in testing, research, development, and manufacturing of materials such as glass, refractory, ceramics, metals, and polymers. This position will focus on conducting analysis using optical methods and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) along with hands-on sample preparation in a laboratory environment. Sample preparation of glass and refractory materials including cutting, mounting, epoxying, grinding, and polishing. Analyze and image prepared samples using optical methods including stereomicroscopy and polarized light microscopy. Conduct imaging and chemical analysis using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX).
