What You Will Do:

The Procurement Assistant's responsibilities will include:

  • Performing tasks that require junior-level knowledge and experience in Grant administration and Award practices and principles such as: soliciting, evaluating, negotiating, and preparing grants for award; administering grants; and analyzing and evaluating cost and price proposals.

  • Applying basic knowledge of concepts, processes, practices and procedures on technical assignments.

  • Skilled in using the systems that support procurement services.

  • Procurement and administrative services, agency contracting, purchase card, training purchases, grants and agreements and the SBIR/STTR programs.

  • Review documentation for completeness (based on list of what is required for each type of grant).

  • Coordinate with client contacts as needed.

  • Confirm that there is a complete proposal and that costs are allowed based on rules and guidance.

  • Conduct research on prices that are over certain thresholds.

  • Apply rules/guidance regarding what types of fees are allowable.

  • Coordinate with Grants Officer on budget reasonableness.

What You Will Need:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma.

  • Minimum Years of Experience Required: 1+ years.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools and learn new client-specific systems.

  • Due to nature of client engagement, US citizenship restrictions apply.

  • Ability to qualify for and be awarded a Public Trust.

  • The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree.

  • Prior experience in procurement or grants administration.
