Job Description
This role will report directly to the Global Procurement Manager Packaging and is responsible for maximizing costs and driving efficiencies for the assigned category on a global scale, while improving and maintaining the highest levels of customer service, building relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
Role Main Responsibilities
- Lead projects that drive productivity across the organization, focalizing in Global and Regional Packaging Solutions, as well as Indirect materials and services’ solutions for the Tijuana Site.
- Manages spend on assigned categories and contributes greatly to cost savings projects, localization of vendors and brings overall efficiencies.
- Support Packaging Global Contract negotiations with vendors on a global scale while complying with regional requirements.
- Accountable for measuring vendors performance, cost savings versus targets, service level and total cost.
- Sourcing for solutions and vendors and support localization of packaging and printing materials, transportation services and indirect materials and services, in alignment with the global requirements and strategy.
- Driving projects from inception to actual deployment, overseeing proper procedures are followed for approval of new materials/product development.
- Interacting with cross functional teams to manage projects, facilitate implementation of packaging solutions and increase awareness of key strategic requirements for the category, such as sustainability and localization.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate and updated parameters in ERP system, such as pricing, vendor master data, lead times and MOQ’s.
Profile Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of Procurement experience in a multinational company, preferably medical devices.
- Relevant experience with international exposure in sourcing, leading projects, identifying cost savings initiatives and managing relevant spend.
- Knowledge in packaging terminology – i.e. cardboard and flutes, folding cartons, IFU’s paper and finishings, etc.
- Prior experience in managing RFQ/RFP processes in cross functional settings, both for direct and indirect categories.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint. Power BI is a plus.
- University Degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
- Experience in working with an ERP system, such as Infor, SAP, Oracle. Agile knowledge desirable.
