  • Position Summary The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading procurement strategy and execution for hyperscale data center projects, with a focus on long-lead electrical equipment, vendor alignment, and supply-chain risk management.
  • This role is not transactional purchasing.
  • The Procurement Manager is expected to understand project schedules, technical requirements, and execution risk, and to actively drive material availability in support of field operations and commissioning milestones.
  • The position works closely with Project Managers, Schedulers, Engineers, Estimating, QA/QC, and vendors to ensure materials are bought out, released, tracked, and delivered in alignment with project needs.
  • Key Responsibilities Procurement Strategy & Planning Develop procurement plans aligned with project schedules, phasing, and execution strategies.
  • Identify long-lead and high-risk materials early, including switchgear, UPS systems, busway, PDUs, RPPs, and specialty equipment.
  • Coordinate procurement sequencing to support prefabrication, installation, and commissioning milestones.
  • Vendor Management & Buyout Lead vendor sourcing, evaluation, and selection in coordination with estimating and project teams.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, terms, and commercial conditions to protect OEC’s interests.
  • Issue purchase orders and subcontracts in accordance with approved scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Material Tracking & Logistics Maintain accurate procurement logs, equipment trackers, and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate logistics planning, storage, staging, and site deliveries with field leadership.
  • Monitor vendor performance and proactively address delays, shortages, or quality concerns.
  • Schedule & Project Integration Work closely with Schedulers and Project Managers to align material deliveries with the critical path.
  • Support recovery planning when procurement risks threaten schedule or commissioning milestones.
  • Provide clear visibility into procurement status for project and executive leadership.
  • Quality & Compliance Support Ensure procured materials comply with contract requirements, approved submittals, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate vendor documentation, certifications, and data required for QA/QC and turnover.
  • Support factory testing, inspections, and witness testing as required.
  • Risk Management & Continuous Improvement Identify supply-chain risks and develop mitigation strategies including alternate sourcing or resequencing.
  • Track procurement-related lessons learned and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support standardization of vendors, equipment, and procurement processes across programs.
  • Qualifications Seven or more years of experience in procurement, supply-chain management, or project delivery within electrical construction.
  • Direct experience procuring mission-critical or hyperscale data center electrical equipment strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction schedules, long-lead equipment, and field execution needs.
  • Proven negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and equipment requirements.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
