Job Description
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to meet the organisation's procurement needs.Develop and execute sourcing strategies to optimise costs and ensure timely delivery.Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.Analyse market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement.Collaborate with internal departments to align procurement processes with organisational goals.Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.Implement sustainable sourcing practices to support renewable energy initiatives.Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and supplier data.Lead and manage the procurement process for electrical equipment and services required for power projectsDevelop and execute procurement strategies that align with project requirements and organizational goals.Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.Negotiate, draft, and manage contracts with suppliers and vendors for electrical equipment and services.Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements and organizational policies.Resolve contract-related issues and disputes effectively.Oversee the entire supply chain process, from order placement to delivery and installation.Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality, cost, and delivery standards.Implement strategies for inventory management, logistics, and warehousing as required.Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and minimize delays.Address and resolve any issues related to order fulfillment or shipment.Act as the Commodity Lead for procurement of conductors and other critical electrical components.Explore and implement new technologies, such as HTLS/ACSS, to optimize the use of transmission lines.Manage a significant annual procurement budget, with a focus on cost-saving initiatives and market analysis.Analyze market trends, commodity fluctuations, and pricing to make informed procurement decisions.Develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with price volatility and supply chain disruptions.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, finance, and project management teams, to ensure alignment with project goals and requirements.Foster strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms and maintain reliable supply sources.Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance.Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supply chain performance.The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (, CPM, CPSM) preferred.Minimum of 12-16 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management within the electrical or power sector, with a proven track record in managing large-scale procurement projectsStrong knowledge of electrical equipment and components used in power projects.Proficiency in contract negotiation, procurement strategies, and supply chain management.Familiarity with procurement software and tools; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite,SAP.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience in international procurement and working on projects abroad is an advantage.Strong leadership and team management skillsHigh level of integrity and professionalism
