Role Title: Product Analyst

Position Summary:

Marriott International is seeking a highly engaged and motivated Product Analyst / Product Owner to join a high-performing and fast-paced application development team. The candidate must have a proven record of working in a complex, matrixed, and fast-paced application development team, should be flexible and an engaging team player.

The Product Analyst supports the Hotel Operations Product organization in clarifying functional requirements and functional design with a specific focus on complex solutions requiring operations research solutions. This role collaborates with client and information technology organizations to lead the definition of functional requirements and functional designs of creative solutions that will support the clients strategy and future business goals.This includes partnership with business stakeholders and close collaboration with Technology Product and Engineering team members.

Job Responsibilities:

• Facilitates the work of a squad team on a sprint-by-sprint basis
• Informs the appropriate team members of feature or project status and related issues and impediments and escalates appropriately

Skill and Experience:

• 2+ years experience in information technology application design or development
• 2+ years experience in business systems analysis or project management on software development projects
• 2+ years experience with converting business needs into technology requirements and working within Technology to manage the execution of projects
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification
• Experience with Agile Development methodology and tools (CSPO or CSM certification a plus)
• Experience with project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Experience facilitating requirements analysis and functional design working sessions
• Experience identifying and analyzing alternative solutions to complex business requirements and providing guidance and advice
• Experience with business process re-engineering
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to get into the technical weeds to come to a solution
• Excellent communicator, both written and spoken
• Extensive experience with business analysis of operations research problems relating to assignment of inventory (e.g. rooms)
• Familiar with UI capabilities afforded by a Salesforce Service Cloud and other modern REACT applications
• Familiarity with front desk and rooms control functions in hospitality industry
• Familiary with automated testing design, Data driven test development techniques, Object recognition, and Test validation
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to define automation test strategies and test plans
• Ability to detect and report software defects, and work with developers to resolve issues
• Strong communication skills to assist other team members with test design, test approach, testing, story requirement clarification and providing feedback to the development team
• A passion for learning new processes and techniques

Preferred:

• Deep familiarity with PMS systems such as Agilysys, Opera, etc.
• Familiarity with hospitality industry applications and processes esp Marriotts ecosystem
• Familiarity with and background in cloud-based custom applications

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
