We are building a generational company that will be the operating system for tradespeople in Europe, starting with roofers in Germany.
Roofers do not need more software. They need results: a system that aces everything from sales to measurements to finding new hires so they can focus on their craft. That is what handly does as a business-in-a-box startup.
We test everything inside our own roofing company before launching it to customers. If it does not work in the real world, it does not ship.

Tasks
As Handly’s second Product Engineer, you’ll build the foundation of our platform from scratch and shape our product and engineering culture. You’ll translate messy, real-world workflows into intuitive, AI-integrated software that drives real results.
- Design, build, and iterate on full-stack features using our TypeScript-based stack: Frontend: React, Tailwind, Vite, Shadcn/ui, React Query; Backend: Node.js, Express, Drizzle, Postgres; Infra: AWS; Mobile: Flutter
- Integrate AI to solve real business problems, not as a gimmick
- Work closely with early customers to understand the daily pain of roofers and translate it into designed and shipped product features
- Take full ownership from design to deployment and iteration. Define what it means to be a "Product Engineer"
- Crush scrappy work like helping migrate our legacy API to TypeScript
Requirements
- Have 3+ years of full-stack engineering experience (exceptions apply for exceptional engineers)
- Have shipped real products end-to-end, including AI-integrated features, preferably in startups and/or tech companies
- Think in product, not ticket, and care about customer results more than process
- Embrace AI tools (of your choice) as natural extensions of your workflow
- Have strong product and design taste
- Prefer speed and ownership over instruction
