PRODUCT ENGINEER
IMPACT AND OPPORTUNITY
Design product according to customer specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that product is designed within various industry standards according to applicable specification in a safe, cost efficient and timely manner while following the APQP process.
Maintains correct engineering and technical disciplines.
Organizes manufacturing and industrial engineering related documentation for new and existing products.
Create and Maintain DFMEA.
Create and maintain DVP & R, BOM and drawings. (including Design Layout and calculations).
Initiate, review and release drawings.
Continuously improve existing product design and internal processes to increase customer satisfaction (CI and VAVE initiatives) and participate in problem solving.
Ensure DFMA.
Ensure that design related documents/changes are in the PDM, SAP and maintained throughout the life of the product. (Including ECR/ECO process).
Ensure functional and safe prototypes (Ensure necessary documentations and drawings for prototype).
Identify project timelines from design phase through production and service.
Attend, support and participate in engineering development meetings, program launches with the customer.
Act as a technical liaison between customer and Project Management.
Produce product drawings per CAD guidelines and specific customer requirements.
Produce tool drawings ensuring most efficient usage of materials and minimum manufacturing time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree or equivalent technical experience.
Min 2 Year experience as Engineer

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Min 1 Year using AutoCAD.
3D models an asset
Automotive Related Experience is an asset (APQP, FMEA)
