Role Title: Product Engineer/Sr. Product Engineer.


Location: Silvassa (Possibility of frequent travel within the Location for client or other business meetings)

Role Purpose

STL (Sterlite Technologies Ltd) are continuing to grow rapidly and to support the next stage of our growth in the Datacenter business.


  1. To review the tender specification from the customers, understand the product requirements and identify the right products from the existing portfolio of Copper Cable, Optical Fiber Cable, Copper connectivity and Fiber Connectivity.
  2. Product Costing and Pricing.
  3. Standard and customised product development.
  4. Development of product specifications and Data sheets.


Role Responsibilities

List down roles and responsibilities here;


  1. Review of tenders specification to understand the technical requirements, identify the product from the existing range and prepare necessary BOQ/BOM for quoting.
  2. Work with supply chain and vendors to find suitable products to fill the product gap in the product portfolio.
  3. Work on product costing and pricing.
  4. Carry out competitive analysis for various products from competition and identify the key features and advantages.
  5. Work with R & D / product development team to develop standard as well as customised products for the DC market/customer requirements.
  6. Work with marketing team to develop GTM tool kit like Data sheets, Product Catalogs, sample kits etc.
  7. Product assembly and functional testing.


Skills & Experience

  1. Competitive Analysis.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills.
  3. Understanding of communication cabling standards like TIA 568, IEC standards and GR standards is an added advantage.
  4. Basic understanding of product costing and pricing.
  5. Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  6. Electrical/ Mechanical Engineer with 5yrs of industrial experience. (Experience in Communication filed would be an added advantage)
  7. Computer skills like MS Excel, MS Power point etc.
