About the role

We are looking for a collaborative and capable Product Owner to assist with translating product strategy into clear, prioritised work that delivers value to renters and the business.

Working closely with product, development, design and customer teams, you’ll own execution across the Rent.com.au suite of products, ensuring the right problems are solved, solutions are well defined, and outcomes are delivered efficiently.

This role is highly delivery-focused, with strong ownership of the backlog, close collaboration with developers, and a deep understanding of renter needs, payment flows and financial products.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Own and prioritise the product development backlog across Rent.com.au suite of products in line with product strategy and business objectives
• Write clear, well-scoped user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting documentation
• Ensure work is delivery‑ready for development, removing ambiguity and dependencies
• Partner closely with development during build, testing and release to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery
• Collaborate with Product team on solution design, trade‑offs and scope decisions
• Validate requirements with stakeholders, ensuring solutions are feasible, valuable and renter‑centric
• Support release planning, feature rollouts and post‑release validation
• Stakeholder & team collaboration
• Act as the primary day‑to‑day liaison between product, development, design and operations
• Collaborate with risk, compliance, customer support, and marketing teams to ensure solutions are viable and launch‑ready
• Support product training, demos and showcases for internal teams
• Product performance & improvement
• Monitor product performance and feature outcomes using data, dashboards and customer feedback
• Identify opportunities for optimisation, quality improvements and technical debt reduction
• Contribute to continuous improvement of product delivery processes

What we’re looking for

• 2+ years’ experience as a Product Owner (or similar delivery-focused product role)
• Strong understanding of agile delivery practices and backlog management
• Experience with payment flows, financial products or working in regulated environments
• Ability to break down complex problems into clear, actionable work and iterate quickly
• Confident communication skills, able to articulate requirements, decisions and trade‑offs clearly
• A customer‑first mindset, with curiosity for renter needs and how product changes impact real people
• Based in Perth and eligible to work in Australia (no sponsorship required)
