Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations Management
  • MBA preferred

Experience

  • 10-20 years of experience in Production Planning, Logistics, or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment
  • Preferably from automotive or engineering sectors



Job Summary

We are hiring a PC&L Head to lead and manage all Production Control and Logistics activities at our manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for end-to-end planning, scheduling, material management, inventory control, warehousing, and dispatch operations. The PC&L Head will ensure smooth material flow from suppliers to production lines and from the plant to customers, while optimizing cost, quality, inventory, and delivery performance in alignment with business objectives.


Key Duties & Responsibilities


Production Planning & Material Management

  • Develop, manage, and control the Master Production Schedule (MPS) in line with customer demand, plant capacity, and inventory norms. (R)
  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials and components through close coordination with Procurement and suppliers. (R)
  • Monitor inventory levels, control excess and obsolete stock, and ensure stock accuracy through regular audits and system discipline. (R)
  • Ensure effective usage of ERP/MRP systems for planning, tracking, and data accuracy. (R)

Logistics, Warehousing & Dispatch

  • Oversee transportation, warehousing, dispatch, and delivery operations to achieve cost and time efficiency. (R)
  • Ensure efficient material layout, storage, handling practices, and safety of raw materials and finished goods. (R)
  • Track customer orders, ensure on-time dispatches, and manage all dispatch and logistics documentation. (R)
  • Evaluate, develop, and manage logistics service providers and transporters. (P)

Cross-functional Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Sales teams to align production flow with operational plans. (R)
  • Monitor supplier delivery schedules and proactively resolve supply chain disruptions or delays. (P)
  • Maintain strong coordination with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. (R)

Performance, Cost & Continuous Improvement

  • Review, analyze, and report PC&L performance metrics such as OTD, inventory turns, logistics cost, and service levels to management. (P)
  • Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives and logistics efficiency improvement projects. (P)
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, Kaizen, JIT, and Kanban systems. (P)

People Management & Compliance

  • Lead, train, motivate, and evaluate the PC&L team; ensure skill development and succession planning. (R)
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/TS standards, safety norms, and company policies across PC&L operations. (P)

Strategic & Contingency Management

  • Participate in strategic and corporate-level logistics and supply chain initiatives. (O)
  • Handle unforeseen production or logistics disruptions such as supplier failures, transport strikes, or capacity constraints. (O)

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and cross-functional coordination abilities
