Job Description
At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Production Fitter to join our Machine Shops department.
This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield. Our Machine Shops offer rough machining and finish machining to exacting tolerances, including complex shapes such as reactor heads for nuclear applications. The department hosts a vast array of milling, turning, boring and finishing machinery including the UK’s largest Vertical Turning Lathe and Horizontal Floor Borer.
As a Production Fitter, you will assemble, fit and install parts to use in large components and machinery.
What you’ll be doing
- Working to technical drawings.
- Measuring and inspecting, using equipment such as micrometers, verniers, pi tapes, slip packs and component specific gauging packages.
