The Indigenous Business Leadership team at the Beedie School of Business is a progressive and inclusive team who is focused on Decolonizing and Indigenizing business education and supporting Indigenous Graduate students completing their MBA. About the Role

The Program Manager, Indigenous Graduate Programs is a critical role that provides program support for Indigenous Business Leadership programs; inclusive of the Executive MBA, Graduate Diploma and Certificate programs within the Beedie School of Business. This role manages all the day to day program delivery logistics and administration for each course. This role establishes and maintains effective relationships with colleagues and partners both internal and external to the University, including faculty, other staff, department representatives, professional associations, partner universities, community groups and most importantly the relationship for IBL EMBA students.

The ideal candidate will be grounded in both lived community experience and the Indigenous business leadership landscape. They are a kind, student centered, values aligned team member who can build relationships and implement program vision. They will also be thoughtful, detail focused, consistent, responsive, and committed to meeting deadlines. They will be collaborative and able to foster a collaborative process and team and be focused on creating culturally safe spaces for student engagement. They will be creative, think strategically, and have a solid knowledge of post-secondary environments, university governance, policies, and procedures. They will be well versed in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and SFU's Reconciliation priorities. They will be willing to do a large variety of work and be a positive and supportive member of the team. They will be an excellent communicator, both written and verbally.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business or a related discipline, and three years of related experience in managing the administration/delivery of graduate programs, including experience in event planning, program/project management, or an equivalent combination of education, training.

  • Excellent administrative, communication, organizational, and flexible time management skills.
  • Strong ability to develop, manage, adjust, and deliver on detailed and complex projects.
  • Resourceful in resolving unexpected challenges and creating alternative solutions.
  • Be able to create and foster culturally safe and Indigenous inclusive spaces.
  • Solid knowledge of post-secondary environments, university governance, policies, and procedures.
