Job purpose

The Sr Customer Project Program Manager is a Cox Automotive (CAI) corporate based employee. The responsibilities include working with enterprise businesses and stakeholders to monitor and bring continuous improvement to maintenance practices, vehicle design and fleet program support.  Key drivers in this role include decision making around cost, reliability, quality, safety and sustainability in order to reduce cost per mile and increase uptime for our operating groups.  Additional responsibilities include supporting enterprise-wide accident, roadside assistance, and maintenance programs, warranty, technical bulletin, and recall activities on all vehicles and equipment assigned to all Cox Enterprise divisions. 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Maintenance responsibilities include managing the Cox fleet maintenance and repair programs; identifying areas for improvement, reinforce policies and procedures and driving reliability and uptime on vehicles.
  • Vehicle design and selection includes assisting in technical specification selection and aftermarket equipment design.  Must keep vehicles and drivers in compliance while allowing them to meet the operational demands of their job while also meeting company, state and federal requirements surrounding sustainability.
  • Support implementation of new vehicles into the fleet.
  • Evaluate opportunities to expand warranty benefits including review of repair orders and shop processes.
  • Establish relationships with manufacturers and distributors to ensure optimal terms.
  • Work with manufacturers on root cause analysis to prevent future component failures.
  • Stay current on federal, state and local regulations that impact vehicle compliance and warranty terms.
  • Track and record maintenance, warranty and recall activity to aid in vehicle selection, decision making, claims management and regulatory compliance.
  • Research recalls and technical service bulletins in order to assist in implementing a plan for resolution.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, up to date information for all company vehicles via Fleet Management systems.
  • Performs a variety of complex, unsupervised tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude. (Business Requirements Prioritization; Problem Solving).
  • Work with business partners to provide detailed vehicle information from Fleet Management Systems promoting fleet utilization and reliability.
  • Other duties and tasks required by Management.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High school diploma and 10 years automotive experience.
  • Ability to drive results through organization and persistence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with peers, business partners, and leadership.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external business partners supporting corporate policy, standards, processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in understanding, analysis, and management of vehicle information to provide recommendations.
  • Strong proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office programs, internet-based applications, and Fleet Management Software.
  • Self-motivated, able to manage expectations, prioritize work to meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast paced, high energy environment.
  • Knowledge of federal, local, and state laws within region to support compliance of all vehicle related records.
  • Strong customer service and organization skills required.
  • Works well in a team environment by supporting departmental initiatives and goals.
  • Provide excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have a valid US state issued driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years fleet or automotive technical experience preferred.
  • Warranty experience.
  • EV experience.
