Role:
The Progression Intern will work closely with the Progression Manager to support students throughout their academic journey. This role focuses on student guidance, mentoring, and engagement, helping students make informed academic and career decisions while ensuring they stay motivated and on track.
The ideal intern is empathetic, proactive, and keen to build experience in student success, mentorship, and academic progression.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Guidance & Mentorship
Act as a guide and mentor to students, helping them make informed academic and career decisions.
Conduct regular student check-ins to understand progress, challenges, and goals.
Provide motivation, clarity, and structured guidance to help students stay engaged.
Escalate complex student concerns to the Progression Manager when required.
2. Student Engagement & Support
Support initiatives aimed at improving student engagement and learning outcomes.
Assist in identifying students who may need additional guidance or intervention.
Help & execute mentoring sessions, group discussions, and student touchpoints led by the Progression Manager.
Gather student feedback to help improve mentoring and engagement processes.
3. Progress Tracking & Insights
Maintain and update student progress trackers using Google Sheets / Excel.
Assist in reviewing basic academic and engagement data to support mentoring conversations.
Share insights and observations with the Progression Manager to enable timely student support.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experience:
Prior exposure or interest in mentoring, peer learning, teaching assistance, counseling, or student-facing roles is a plus.
Students, fresh graduates, or individuals interested in careers in education, student success, or mentorship are encouraged to apply.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic to intermediate proficiency in Google Sheets / Excel.
Ability to empathize, listen actively, and guide students effectively.
Attributes:
Empathetic, patient, and student-focused.
Proactive and eager to learn under the guidance of a Progression Manager.
Comfortable engaging with students and handling sensitive conversations responsibly.
Motivated to contribute positively to student journeys and outcomes.
