Job Description
We are looking for a Drive Test Coordination Engineer to manage and coordinate drive test teams, ensuring efficient execution of field activities and high-quality data collection. This role requires strong coordination skills, hands-on telecom knowledge, and the ability to work closely with RF teams and drive testers to support network optimization activities. Must have good communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily activities of Drive Test teams , assigning routes and locations based on team availability, geographic positioning, and project priorities.
Work closely with local RF teams to understand site and cluster status and plan drive routes accordingly, considering site outages or maintenance schedules.
Maintain continuous communication with Drive Test teams to ensure adherence to planned routes and testing procedures.
Monitor and track Drive Tester performance , including:
Miles driven
ATP site pass/fail status
Throughput test execution and quality
Support Drive Testers in resolving testing challenges (e.g., identifying optimal locations for throughput tests).
Create, manage, and update Tab files , maps, and test plans using tools such as XCAL, XCAP, and Google Earth .
Track and escalate issues related to:
Drive test tools and equipment
Vehicles and logistics
Site access or testing constraints
Coordinate logistics such as hotel bookings , vehicle readiness, and overall field readiness to ensure uninterrupted drive testing activities.
Provide regular status updates and reports to project stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with XCAL, XCAP, Google Earth , and drive test planning tools.
Solid understanding of telecom networks and drive testing processes.
Excellent communication and coordination skills , with the ability to manage multiple teams in the field.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and resolve issues quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with MapInfo and other RF mapping tools (preferred but not mandatory).
Prior experience in drive testing, RF engineering, or telecom field coordination .
Familiarity with LTE/5G network concepts is a plus.
