Permanent Placement / Direct Placement Title: Project Engineer Compensation: Up to 200K/yr - plus benefits, commensurate with experience Location: US Hybrid Company Description: Our Client is an industrial-scale data center construction and operations company. They allocate data center opportunities between bitcoin mining and other high performance computing services, such as AI. They continue to develop their pipeline of power capacity at high-quality data center sites, either for bitcoin mining or HPC. Position Summary: We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the Director of Program Management in building, standardizing, and scaling the company’s project delivery framework across a portfolio of fast-track hyperscale data center construction projects. This role is ideal for a technically grounded, detail-oriented professional with strong construction project experience who thrives at the intersection of execution, systems, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities
+ Develop, standardize, and maintain PMO templates and tools, ensuring they are practical, lean, and aligned with fast-track delivery.
+ Establish and manage a formal lessons learned process across projects, translating insights into updated standards and playbooks.
+ Support consistent, reliable portfolio-level reporting and data aggregation across multiple projects and sites.
+ Assist project teams in maintaining accurate schedules, cost forecasts, and progress metrics, identifying gaps or inconsistencies early.
+ Implement PMO governance frameworks, including stage gates and approval workflows, while supporting adoption of new PMO tools.
+ Interface with various departments to support alignment between project execution data and financial or operational reporting.
+ Assist with external audits, reviews, or reporting requests as needed.
Required Skills
+ 5–10+ years of experience in construction project engineering, project controls, or PMO support roles.
+ Strong background in heavy commercial, industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects.
+ Solid understanding of construction sequencing and execution, and design and procurement workflows.
+ Experience supporting multiple concurrent projects.
+ High proficiency in project management and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, scheduling software, dashboards).
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Differentiators
+ Direct experience with data center or mission-critical facility construction.
+ Experience with fast-track or design-build projects.
+ Experience working within or helping establish a PMO.
+ Exposure to commissioning and turnover processes, and risk and change management frameworks.
+ Technical background in engineering, construction management, or similar fields.
Education & Certifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology) preferred.
