Role Overview


QpiVolta Technologies is looking for a Project Engineer – Battery Technologies to support and execute battery development projects from lab to pilot line. The role requires strong engineering discipline, cross-team coordination, and hands-on execution, working closely with R&D scientists,

process engineers, and equipment teams. This role is ideal for someone who understands battery fundamentals and excels at turning experiments into repeatable, documented processes.


Key Responsibilities


Project Execution & Coordination

Plan and execute battery development projects across materials, electrodes, and cells

Track project milestones, risks, and deliverables

Coordinate between R&D, process, equipment, and quality teams

Maintain project documentation, timelines, and technical reports


Battery Development Support

Support electrode fabrication, electrolyte preparation, and cell assembly

Assist in coin cell and pouch cell fabrication

Monitor process parameters, yields, and deviations

Support N/P ratio optimization, loading optimization, and process

trials


Pilot-Line Operations

Support pilot-line activities including slurry preparation, coating, drying, calendaring, stacking, and sealing

Assist in equipment commissioning, qualification, and troubleshooting

Ensure adherence to SOPs, safety protocols, and cleanroom practices


Data Analysis & Reporting

Compile and analyze electrochemical and process data

Track ICE, capacity retention, impedance growth, and failure trends

Prepare technical summaries, dashboards, and review presentations


Quality, Safety & Compliance

Support process consistency, repeatability, and quality control

Participate in root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions

Ensure compliance with EHS and lab safety standards


Required Qualifications


Education


MTech/Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields

Strong understanding of battery fundamentals (Li-ion / Na-ion / solid- state preferred)

Hands-on experience in labs, pilot plants, or manufacturing environments

Ability to read and execute SOPs, process flows, and test plans

Good data handling and reporting skills (Excel, basic data analysis)

Experience with electrode processing or cell assembly

Exposure to pilot-line or scale-up projects

Familiarity with electrochemical testing methods

Knowledge of basic quality tools (FMEA, RCA, DOE)
