Your impact

We’re seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Project Engineer to support our program in San Francisco, CA. This role is ideal for someone who excels in coordination, documentation, technical problem-solving, and field-to-office integration on complex, multi-phased construction projects.

As a Project Engineer embedded at the client’s site, you will support the Project Manager and Construction Manager and work closely with contractors, design teams, inspectors, operations groups, and Jacobs program team. You will play a critical role in maintaining project documentation, supporting field execution, and ensuring technical and administrative workflows operate efficiently.

This position is essential in keeping the project team aligned - bridging field activities with cost, schedule, quality, and reporting requirements while helping drive smooth execution from planning through turnover and closeout.

As a Project Engineer, you will support the team with coordination, technical documentation, and project controls, including:

  • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, drawings, and technical correspondence.
  • Maintain project documentation systems and ensure accurate logging and distribution.
  • Update project logs, meeting minutes, action items, and dashboards.
  • Review plans, specifications, and details to support constructability and resolve field issues.
  • Coordinate with the Construction Manager to verify work in place and track field progress.
  • Support document control workflows across tools such as Procore, Unifier, Bluebeam, and P6.
  • Document field observations, photos, mock-ups, inspections, and punch list items.
  • Assist with shutdown coordination, logistics planning, material tracking, and campus interfaces.
  • Support schedule management, including updates, look-aheads, milestone tracking, and critical path.
  • Assist with cost and change management by preparing backup, quantifying impacts, and validating changes.
  • Support pay application reviews by verifying percent complete and installed work.
  • Maintain turnover and closeout documentation, including commissioning logs, O&M manuals, as-builts, and occupancy requirements.
  • Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience supporting construction or engineering projects; healthcare, lab, or research facilities experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, technical reviews, sequencing, and coordination processes.
  • Proficiency with project management and construction tools (Procore, Bluebeam, P6, Unifier, MS Project, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    Posted Salary Range: Minimum 110,500.00 Posted Salary Range: Upper 151,900.00

    The base salary range for this position is $110,500.00 to $151,900.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
