Job Description

About Terra-Vaults

Terra-Vaults is transforming how underground power and telecom infrastructures are built. We design and manufacture advanced polymer-concrete and resin-based enclosures, pads, and lids used by major telecom providers, utilities, and infrastructure contractors across the U.S. Our solutions support the country's fiber and power grid expansion with high-performance, long-lasting products based on leading-edge technologies.

We're a fast-growing company with major customer traction, industry credibility, and a leadership team that believes great engineering drives competitive advantage.

Why Terra-Vaults is a Great Place to Build Your Career

  • Meaningful Impact: You will directly influence products going into nationwide utility and telecom networks.

  • Variety & Ownership: You will take projects from concept to testing to commercialization.

  • Fast Decisions, No Red Tape: Great ideas move quickly here, and engineers are listened to.

  • Multi-Disciplinary Exposure: You'll work with R&D, manufacturing, customers, state DOTs, and national industry standards.

  • Invested in Growth: We train, mentor, and give exposure to engineering, materials science, testing, regulatory, and operations.

This role is ideal for someone who wants responsibility, visibility, and a chance to shape real industrial products - not just make drawings in a cubicle.

Role Summary

This position works closely with customers, state DOT decision makers, manufacturing operations, and the Terra-Vaults leadership team.

  • Modify existing designs based on customer specifications and field performance

  • Translate DOT standards, utility specifications, and customer requirements into manufacturable designs

Testing & Certification

  • Coordinate and execute performance testing (e.g., AASHTO, SCTE-77, ASTM methods, tier/load testing)

  • Support DOT approval processes, including documentation, drawings, data packages, and testing reports

  • Work with third-party labs as needed for mechanical, environmental, and certification testing

Manufacturing & Operations Support

  • Work with operations to design and improve production equipment, fixtures, molds, and tooling

  • Assist with process optimization for throughput, safety, and yield

  • Troubleshoot production issues tied to materials, molds, and curing

Project & Customer Support

  • Interface with customers, distributors, and utilities to understand technical needs

  • Support field evaluations and sample testing programs

  • Create engineering documentation, drawings, change notices, and bill of materials

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline

  • 3–7 years of engineering experience in product development, manufacturing, or industrial hardware

  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks strongly preferred)

  • Experience with mechanical/structural testing or performance standards

  • Strong documentation ability (drawings, test reports, technical communication)

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred (Nice to Have):

  • Exposure to composite materials, polymer concrete, plastics, or cast products

  • Experience with DOT, utility, or telecom infrastructure products

  • Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, SCTE-77, or similar standards

  • Experience working with manufacturing operations or production tooling

  • Ability to run FEA, load simulations, or durability analysis

Personal Characteristics

  • Curious and motivated to figure things out

  • Comfortable talking to customers and operators - not just sitting behind CAD

  • Thrives in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments

  • Hands-on mindset with willingness to get into the plant or field when needed

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience

  • Performance bonus eligibility

  • Health, dental, and vision coverage
