Could you be the full-time Project Engineering Manager – Rolling Stock / Component (PrEM) in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Vadodara we’re looking for?

You'll play a pivotal role in managing engineering activities and ensuring the successful delivery of engineering work packages, all while upholding Alstom's values of Team, Trust, and Action. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, including Project or Sub-System Managers, Engineering Metier Leaders, and customer technical representatives, to manage interfaces, provide regular reporting, and ensure quality delivery. You’ll also contribute to risk mitigation and cost-saving initiatives.
You’ll specifically take care of technical decision-making and the functional management of the project engineering core team, but also oversee engineering work packages, design reviews, and gate reviews.
We’ll look to you for:
- Managing project engineering activities and ensuring compliance with QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) commitments
- Representing Engineering within the project core team and managing key interfaces
- Providing regular reporting and performance analysis using the PrEM cockpit
- Defining and enforcing the Engineering Management Plan
- Managing engineering risk mitigation and savings action plans
- Ensuring timely design and gate reviews
- Representing Alstom Project Engineering:
- In front of customer for design progress, issues, risks.
- In front of partners in case of consortium for timely inputs/outputs and design reviews.
- Defining and enforcing the Engineering Management Plan.
- Managing functionally the project engineering core team (TxEs, RAMS, CV).
- Providing workload updates and escalating staffing issues.
- Owns engineering work package and updates baseline regularly.
- Validates Variation Orders and ensures traceability.
- Approves product modifications as part of CCB.
- Manages scheduling convergence and operational quality.
- Plans and ensures timely Design Reviews and Gate Reviews.
- Animates engineering issues and ensures closure of C1/C2 issues.
- Provides prognostic for DFQ Gate Reviews and mitigates No-Go risks.
- Manages engineering risk mitigation and savings action plans.
- Provides inputs for RAMP/SAMP updates.
- Communicates and escalates critical paths internally and externally

- Electrical Engineering / Master in power electronics and drives or equivalent with experience in engineering teams
- Experience or understanding of product development and management positions (minimum 5 years for large projects preferred)
- Extensive technical knowledge and project/company background
- Knowledge of engineering work package management
- Familiarity with risk mitigation and savings action plans
- A structured, organized, and hands-on approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer focus and management skills
- Fluent in English and local language
