Job Description: Project Head – Transmission Project

Role Purpose

The Project Head shall be overall accountable for the end-to-end execution of the Transmission Project, ensuring successful delivery in line with contractual, technical, statutory, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of the transmission project.
  
• Ensure adherence to approved project timelines, budgets, quality standards, safety norms, and statutory/regulatory requirements.
  
• Act as the primary interface with clients, utilities, regulatory authorities, consultants, and senior stakeholders.
  
• Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities for transmission lines and/or substations.
  
• Ensure effective coordination among internal teams, contractors, and vendors to achieve project milestones.
  
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; ensure timely resolution of technical, commercial, and contractual issues.
  
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and statutory approvals.
  
• Drive performance management, reporting, and governance throughout the project lifecycle.
  

Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Designation Level: GM / Sr. GM / AVP
  
• Education: BE / ME
  
• Stream: Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
  
• Total Experience: Minimum 20 years
  
• Specialization: Transmission & Distribution (T&D) / Substations
  
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 15 years in execution of transmission and/or substation projects, preferably in EPC environments

• Proven leadership in large-scale transmission or substation projects
  
• Strong stakeholder management and decision-making capability
  
• Sound knowledge of statutory, regulatory, and utility requirements
  
• Excellent coordination, risk management, and execution skills
