Role Overview
The Project Manager – Solar Rooftop Projects will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of solar rooftop installations from design to commissioning. The role requires strong project management capabilities, technical expertise, and effective coordination with internal teams, vendors, clients, and regulatory authorities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Manage complete lifecycle of solar rooftop projects across residential, commercial, and industrial segments
Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies
Coordinate site surveys, system design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning activities
Technical & Quality Management
Review and approve solar system designs, drawings, and BOQs
Ensure compliance with MNRE / DISCOM guidelines , electrical standards, and safety norms
Monitor installation quality and adherence to technical specifications
Team & Vendor Coordination
Lead and coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, contractors, and vendors
Manage subcontractors and ensure timely delivery of materials and services
Conduct regular site meetings, progress reviews, and issue resolution
Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and statutory authorities
Manage client communication, progress reporting, and concern resolution
Coordinate with DISCOMs for net metering, approvals, and inspections
Cost, Schedule & Risk Control
Track project costs, schedules, and key milestones
Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
Prepare MIS, project status reports, and documentation
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies at project sites
Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and compliance checks
Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are met
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Renewable Energy Engineering
5–8 years of experience in solar rooftop project management
Strong technical understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, mounting structures, and BOS
Experience handling residential, commercial, and industrial rooftop projects preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong project management and leadership abilities
Working knowledge of solar design tools and MS Project / Primavera (preferred)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
