Job Description
Purpose Statement:
As project management experts in Japan Development (JD), Project Managers are responsible for delivering high quality project management, enabling the Japan Asset Strategy Team (JAST) to plan and implement the most competitive asset strategies to bring impactful medicines to patients through effective communication and collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders
Major Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution*
- Serve as a core member of JAST, coordinating the definition of team deliverables and the execution of activities.
- Facilitate JAST meetings and actively contribute to cross-functional discussions from both a project management and strategic perspective, leveraging extensive knowledge of the drug development process.
- Drive cross-functional alignment within JAST and structure team discussions to support effective decision-making practices.
- In partnership with Japan Asset Strategy Leader (JASL), lead and coordinate the development of a robust Japan asset strategy that aligns with the global strategy, ensuring consensus with senior management.
- Lead cross-functional communications and navigate JAST in effective interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring that Japan timelines are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with JAST members and stakeholders.
- Obtain governance budget approval for the Japan components of projects in collaboration with the global project manager, and monitor budget status in collaboration with global finance and relevant functions in Japan Development (JD).
- Proactively identify, communicate and manage cross-functional asset risks, implementing appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
- Ensure timely and accurate project status reporting.

- Drive project management initiatives aimed at process improvement, project success and asset value maximization.
- Actively share learning and collaborate with other Project Managers to apply best practices to JAST.
- In partnership with JASL, enhance cross-functional team effectiveness and foster a high-performing JAST.

- People development
- Conduct training and coaching to junior Project Managers and contribute to building talent pipeline.
* For activities of 1, [PM I] support/coordinate the team while [PM II] lead the team in partnership with JASL.
Expected hiring grade:
- 16 or 17 (Offering position will be determined based on the career experience and evaluation)
資格
Experience:
- 5+ years of experiences in R&D related areas in the pharmaceutical industry, including 3+ years clinical development planning phase to approval, or having equivalent knowledge.
- Experiences in multiple therapeutic areas preferred.
- 3+ years supporting cross-functional drug development teams
- Work experience in global environment
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a relevant field
- Advanced degree preferred (MSc / PhD / MBA, etc) or strong demonstration of equivalent combination of relevant educational and professional training
Knowledge:
- Industry knowledge in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or other Healthcare related field and understanding of its business
- Sufficient knowledge regarding process of clinical development, NDA and approval and regulations in Japan
- Broad knowledge of program management practices in the pharmaceutical industry
- Basic knowledge for marketing, pricing system and post marketing surveillance/investigation

- Good communication skills, including verbal and written English skills (TOEIC over 750, or equivalent)

- Expertise in MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
