Job Title: Head of Project Monitoring Group (PMG) – Oil & Gas EPC Company


Location: Mumbai - Santacruz


Experience: 22+ years of experience in project management within the Oil & Gas EPC sector, specifically in pipeline projects.


Industry: Cross-country Pipeline Projects (Oil & Gas Sector)


Job Summary:

The Head of the Project Monitoring Group (PMG) will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution and monitoring of large-scale cross-country pipeline projects in Saudi Arabia. This role requires a strategic leader with expertise in project planning, cost control, budgeting, and monitoring to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The PMG Head will coordinate cross-functional teams, ensure compliance with industry standards, and implement best practices in project management.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Monitoring & Control

  • Establish and maintain project monitoring systems to track progress, identify risks, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Regularly review project status reports, dashboards, and KPIs to assess project health.
  • Facilitate proactive resolution of issues and mitigation of risks affecting project scope, schedule, or cost.
  • Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure adherence to project schedules and quality standards.

2. Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Utilize industry-standard project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) for detailed scheduling.
  • Monitor and update project schedules to reflect actual progress and upcoming activities.
  • Ensure that project planning aligns with contractual obligations and client expectations.

3. Cost Control & Budgeting

  • Develop and oversee project budgets, including cost estimates, forecasts, and cash flow management.
  • Implement effective cost control measures to prevent budget overruns.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to optimize resource utilization and procurement costs.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as a liaison between project teams, clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure seamless communication and coordination across all project phases.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

5. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor contractual obligations and ensure contractual compliance.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and present regular project monitoring reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of project activities, decisions, and lessons learned.
  • Support audit and review processes as required.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Proven experience in cross-country pipeline projects in the Middle East or similar regions.
  • Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, cost control, and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with project management software tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices in Oil & Gas EPC projects.
