Location: Far North Region

Client

Our client is specialized in multi-disciplinary engineering and architectural projects, offering a wide range of services in project management, design and engineering to support infrastructure projects. They operate in various APAC locations such as Australia, Fiji, Papua and New Guinea.

Scope

The Project Scheduler will be co-located and embedded within the client’s Far North District team and will support the district to control and report on various elements of the progress of flood recovery projects, with primary responsibility for the creation and regular maintenance of project schedules in Primavera P6. As you are required to be embedded in the client’s Far North District team, the ideal candidate must be living in Far North District with his own accommodation and vehicle.

Roads: Sealed and Gravel Road Works
Structures: Bridges, major culverts, floodways, landslips, major realignments etc.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules for flood recovery and civil works using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project).
  2. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure schedule alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  3. Track project progress, identify critical paths, and update schedules to reflect changes in scope, resources, or timelines.
  4. Conduct schedule risk analyses and recommend mitigation strategies for potential delays.
  5. Report on project performance, including earned value analysis, progress tracking, and schedule variance assessments.
  6. Ensure compliance with contractual scheduling requirements and client reporting standards.
  7. Collaborate with procurement, construction, and design teams to align scheduling activities with resource availability and lead times.
  8. Monitor recovery project milestones, resource constraints, and dependencies to optimize delivery outcomes.
  9. Support claims and extensions of time (EOT) by providing detailed schedule analyses and documentation.
  10. Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project Scheduler, preferably in civil, flood recovery, or infrastructure works.
  3. Proficiency in scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent software.
  4. Strong understanding of civil construction processes and project lifecycle.
