At DTN Weather & Environmental Solutions, we are looking for a Proposal Engineer to strengthen our proposal team as part of a solid and sustained expansion, supporting long-term international opportunities.

Within Weather & Environmental Solutions - the specific DTN business unit where this role is based - we design and implement mission-critical weather and environmental monitoring systems. Our projects involve delivering complete, end-to-end solutions across three main areas: Aviation, Environmental Monitoring, and Hydromet Observation Solutions for both public and private customers.

    • As a Proposal Engineer, you will play a key role in preparing technical and commercial proposals for national and international tenders. From day one, you will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Product, Software, and Operations teams, taking on real responsibility while being supported by experienced colleagues.

    This is a challenging and highly developmental role, ideal for profiles with technical background who are interested in both technical work and commercial and management responsibilities. You will be expected to work with rigor, attention to detail and enthusiasm, while benefiting from strong team support, structured processes, and mentoring from senior professionals.

    Your mission: contribute to turning opportunities into awarded projects by balancing strong technical solutions with competitive commercial proposals.

    Key responsibilities

  • Analysis and strategy: understand complex customer requirements and define optimal technical solutions meeting their needs
  • Comprehensive proposal management: coordinate and consolidate inputs from Sales, Product, Engineering, Software and Execution teams to create cohesive and competitive proposals
  • Commercial optimization: Manage supplier quotations and balance target pricing with competitive margins
  • Documentation production: Develop professional, comprehensive proposals that meet critical deadlines
  • Risk management: Lead tender risk analysis with internal stakeholders
  • Commercial support: Support negotiations and contract closure with the Business Development Manager
  • Project handover: Transfer won projects to execution teams ensuring a complete transition

    Requirements:

  • Engineering degree (Industrial, Telecommunications, Aerospace, or similar)
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in technical, engineering, project, or proposal-related roles
  • Strong English skills, both written and spoken (essential)
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and strong quality focus
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset

    • Nice to have:

  • Experience working in international or multidisciplinary environments
  • Knowledge of sectors such as aviation, meteorology, environmental monitoring, or energy
  • Additional languages (French, German, Portuguese, etc.)

    Compensation:

    The targeted base pay range is €22,500–€30,000 annually. DTN is a pay-for-performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity, and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market-competitive variable pay and benefits.
