Purchase Executive manages the entire procurement cycle, focusing on sourcing, negotiating, and buying goods/services at best value, involving supplier vetting, contract management, inventory control, cost analysis, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining records and collaborating with internal teams to meet organizational needs efficiently and cost-effectively. Key duties include developing strategies, tracking orders, handling discrepancies, and staying updated on market trends, requiring strong negotiation and analytical skills. 

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Management: Identify, research, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers.

Negotiation: Secure best prices, terms, and contracts with vendors.

Procurement Operations: Raise purchase orders, track deliveries, and manage invoices.

Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, forecast needs, and optimize inventory turnover.

Cost & Quality Control: Conduct cost analysis, ensure product quality, and find cost-saving opportunities.

Internal Coordination: Collaborate with other departments (Finance, Production, etc.) to understand requirements.

Reporting: Maintain accurate records and generate purchase reports.

Market Awareness: Stay informed on industry trends, new products, and regulations. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.

Experience: Proven experience in purchasing or procurement.

Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Knowledge: Understanding of supply chain procedures, vendor sourcing, and procurement software (like SAP). 

Typical Duties

Sourcing and vetting new vendors.

Negotiating prices and contract terms.

Managing purchase requisitions and sending orders.

Resolving issues with non-delivered or damaged goods.

Coordinating with stores/warehouses for proper storage.
