Dimension / Scope of The Job: 

To manage procurement of direct and indirect materials for sealing and gasket manufacturing, ensuring cost efficiency, timely availability, and compliance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Strategy & Planning


Develop and implement sourcing strategies for direct materials (metal, composites, etc) and indirect materials (MRO, consumables, services). Ensure alignment with production schedules and inventory norms.

2. Vendor Development & Management


Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for raw materials and indirect items. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to achieve cost savings. Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, and compliance.

3. Cost Optimization & Budget Control


Drive cost reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing and value engineering. Maintain procurement within approved budgets and report variances.

4. Compliance & Documentation


Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory requirements, and audit norms. Maintain accurate purchase records, agreements, and vendor documentation.

5. Coordination & Communication


Work closely with PPC, Production, Quality, and Finance teams for material planning. Support new product development with timely sourcing of prototype materials.

6. Risk Management


Mitigate supply chain risks by developing alternate sources and monitoring market trends. Ensure continuity of supply during demand fluctuations or emergencies.

Experience: 12–15 years in procurement, preferably in automotive or industrial manufacturing.

Qualification: Education: BE / MBA in Supply Chain / Materials Management.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes in automotive manufacturing.

  • Expertise in direct material sourcing (rubber, metal, gasket components) and indirect procurement.

    • Safety / EHS Competencies :

  • Awareness on significant safety hazards, risk & operational controls

  • Legal compliances - awareness on EHS Policy & objective

  • Awareness on Emergency Management system

  • Environment significant aspects, Risk knowledge & it's operational controls
