Job Description

A Purchase Executive manages the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves supplier selection, negotiation, purchase order management, and inventory control, while also maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, monitoring market trends, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers based on various criteria like quality, cost, and reliability. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new vendors.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Conduct market research to identify the best suppliers and understand market trends. Analyze market conditions, pricing, and supply chain risks.
  • Purchase Order Management: Create, review, and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Cost Management: Analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) and optimize procurement costs.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish quality standards and specifications for purchased goods and services.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with planning teams to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with finance, operations, engineering, and other teams to understand their procurement needs.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain procurement reports.
