Job Title: PYP Teacher
Board: IB – Primary Years Programme
Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality inquiry-based education aligned with the IB PYP framework, fostering academic excellence, global citizenship, and holistic development in young learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons aligned with the IB PYP curriculum and inquiry cycles
- Design and implement Units of Inquiry (UOI) integrating transdisciplinary themes
- Use diverse teaching strategies to support differentiated learning
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Assess student progress using formative and summative assessment strategies
- Maintain accurate student records, portfolios, and reports
- Collaborate with PYP coordinators and teaching teams for curriculum planning
- Integrate ATL skills, learner profile attributes, and international mindedness
- Communicate effectively with parents through meetings, reports, and conferences
- Participate in school events, professional development, and IB training
- Uphold IB standards, school policies, and safeguarding guidelines
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Education or relevant subject
- IB PYP training or experience preferred
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience (PYP experience an advantage)
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for early childhood/primary education
- Proficient in using educational technology and digital tools
