About the RoleWe are seeking a talented and collaborative Software Engineer II – Python to join our Shadow Health development team in Mexico City. This position performs moderately difficult research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. You will contribute to building and enhancing web services and applications that support healthcare education through simulation-based learning.
Responsibilities- Work with the Tech Lead to solve moderate complexity software engineering problems.
- Build new features and improve existing ones for our Learning Management System.
- Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
- Review code from other engineers and provide constructive feedback.
- Complete moderately complex bug fixes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
- Keep abreast of new technology developments.
- All other duties as assigned.
- 3+ years of Software Engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in development languages including but not limited to: Python, FastAPI, LangGraph, SQL, Docker, AWS, GitHub Actions, UNIX .
- Proficiency with data manipulation languages and understanding of data modeling principles.
- Ability to work with complex data models.
- Familiarity with agile software development methodologies.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Knowledge of test-driven development and industry best practices such as code coverage.
- Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
