QA Engineer

About the Role

The Quality Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of scalable software systems that drive our business. Across our businesses, our applications run business critical processes. Quality is paramount and testing critical. As a QA, your primary focus will be on defining and executing manual testing strategies and creating detailed and efficient test cases. Over time, you will have the opportunity to grow into test automation and contribute to enhancing our automated testing capabilities.

This role involves working closely with business users, guiding them in the testing process, and collaborating with software engineers in a fast-paced, diverse, and DevOps-focused environment. With three core technology stacks: .NET/Angular, Node.js/Angular, and Low-Code (Out Systems), this is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to multiple technologies and contribute to shaping the future of quality assurance at Stolt-Nielsen.

What Youll Do:

• Define, design, and execute detailed manual test cases for modern, scalable applications.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage for new features, bug fixes, and system integrations.
• Work closely with engineers and product teams to ensure application quality from the development phase.
• Guide and support business users during user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring structured testing processes and capturing feedback.
• Provide feedback to developers to improve testability.
• Contribute to defining and refining overall QA strategies and processes.
• Assist in the development of frameworks for future test automation needs.
• Create and maintain clear test plans, test cases, and execution reports.
• Communicate results effectively to stakeholders.
• Begin hands-on exposure to test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Jest, xUnit) and CI/CD pipelines as part of a long-term career development plan.

What Youll Bring:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in software testing.
• Strong knowledge of manual testing fundamentals, including test strategy creation, functional/non-functional testing, system testing, integration testing, and regression testing.
• Exposure to test management tools (such as Azure DevOps or Jira).
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (like Azure PaaS components) and source control systems (Git).
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking mindset, ensuring potential issues are anticipated and addressed early.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.

Must Have Skills:

• Learn and work with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Jest, and xUnit.
• Contribute to test automation pipelines integrated with CI/CD workflows.
• Transition into a hybrid role that includes planning and executing both manual and automated tests.
• Participate in the development of scalable, reusable automated test suites.
