QA Lab Engineer

What the role entails

(Key Responsibilities)

• Execute the Telcordia / IEC / customer GR qualification programs
• Set up the testing - equipment’s, man power, data acquisition, report generation
• Engage with the 3rd party labs when in house test setups are inadequate.
• Engage with 3rd party inspectors and run test programs.
• Engage with standardization bodies and represent STL.
• Able to performing Integrity, Qualification and FAT testing independently. ( Experience in Optical Type testing on MTP/MPO & MMC is mandatory )
• Execute the test and / or inspection of the product based on drawing, BOM, as per International standards etc.
• Preparation of QAP/Test plan/Test schedule for product qualification based on the International standards or customer specifications.
• Preparation and execution of the Test schedule within the specified time limit.
• Need to Perform the TPI (Third party inspection) test as per customer requirements.
• Carry out the inspections, measurements, tests that are required to determine the conformity of the material or product manufactured as per the product qualification requirement.
• Maintain the equipment is with Up-to-date calibration & Validation of calibration reports
• Constant improvement or reinvestment incorporating best practices for a new systems and current system enhancements.
• Work with team to get the NABL Certification.
• Retraining and providing support in the different areas according to the needs of the company.
• Products statistical test and / or inspection data to help determine and maintain product quality and reliability using Quality Control procedures.
• Able to prepare the Product Discrepancy report.
• Notify your immediate superior of any deviation from the established quality standards.
• Train personnel from other areas in testing tasks when these are required.
• Performs other tasks as needed.

What we are looking for in you

• Experienced in Telcordia / IEC / customer GR qualification programs
• Experienced of lab Leadership - set up the testing - equipment’s, man power, data acquisition, and report generation.
• Experienced of working with the 3rd party labs when in house test setups are inadequate.
• Experienced of working with 3rd party inspectors and running test programs.
• Experienced of working with standardization bodies.
• Should have to manage reliability testing for Data Centre (MPO/MTP & MMC) products and Fiber Optic Interconnecting devices.
• Must have experienced in Optical Performance testing on MPO/MTP & MMC (during Environmental)
• Knowledge on Fiber Optic Interconnecting Products (Manufacturing, quality & Testing).
• Should have a capable to handle TPI independently (Third party inspection).
• Must have knowledge on the use of Optic Measurement Equipment and Tools, testing instruments (IL-RL Meter, Environmental chamber, Impact test, IP test etc.)
• Knowledge on the use of Patch Cord inspection tools (IL/RL Meter, Visual Scope, and Interferometer etc.)
• Knowledge of the use of Patch Cord reliability testing tools (Bend test, tensile test, impact test, torsion test, flexure test etc.)
• Intimate familiarity with ISO9001/TL9000 Quality Systems with implementation or other applicable professional experience.
• Experienced of NABL certification would prefer.
• Working knowledge of basic and/or advanced Quality tools such as; 7QC, FMEA, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, Poke Yoke, Kaizen Lean Manufacturing etc
• Experienced with developing/documenting procedures. Use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection.
• Ability to coordinate with teams across departments and/or cross functional personnel.
• Ability to articulate (verbally & in writing), defend and negotiate Quality expectations with internal and external customers.
• Ability to drive technical and cultural changes where required.

Experience & Education

Minimum Qualifications & Critical Exposure to Perform the Job at the Optimum Level

• 5+ Years of work experience Optical Interconnect product testing and lab Management. (Experienced in Optical environmental testing w.r.t Telcordia GR, IEC, Experience to test MPO/MTP & MMC etc)

• Graduation in Electronics and Telecommunication or equivalent.
• Certified with Laboratory management as per IS/IEC/ISO is preferred.
