Job Description

We are looking for an experienced SDET / QA Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in mobile application testing on iOS and Android . This role focuses on building and maintaining robust test automation frameworks , improving overall product quality, and enabling fast, reliable releases. Experience with Python and at least one other automation language or framework is required. Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for iOS and Android applications.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and identify test scenarios.
• Implement end-to-end, integration, regression, and performance tests for mobile apps and backend services.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Analyse test results, identify root causes of failures, and work with engineering teams to triage and resolve defects .
• Maintain high-quality test data, test environments, and device configurations (simulators, emulators, and physical devices).
• Contribute to and advocate for engineering best practices around testability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Provide test coverage reports , quality metrics, and recommendations for improving product quality and release readiness.
• (Nice to have) Work with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools/solutions to validate app deployment, configuration, security, and compliance policies on managed devices.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience as an SDET / QA Automation Engineer / Software Engineer in Test .
• Strong, practical experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android .
• Technical Skills:
• Solid programming skills in Python for test automation.
• Hands-on experience with at least one additional automation language or stack, for example:
• Java / Kotlin / Swift / JavaScript / TypeScript / C# , etc.
• Experience with mobile automation frameworks/tools such as:
• Appium , XCUITest , Espresso , Detox , or similar.
• Good understanding of mobile app architecture , APIs, and client–server interactions.
• Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms (e.g., Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, MobileIron, Jamf, etc.).
• Knowledge of mobile security, device policies, certificates, and enrollment flows .
• Experience with performance and reliability testing for mobile apps.
• Experience with cloud-based device farms (e.g., AWS Device Farm, BrowserStack, Saucelabs, Firebase Test Lab)
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (unit, integration, system, regression, smoke, performance).
• Quality & Process:
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, etc.).
• Ability to define and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data .
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work cross-functionally with engineering and product teams.
• Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments .

Preferred Skills

• Experience testing REST/GraphQL APIs using automation tools (e.g., requests in Python, Postman + Newman, REST Assured, etc.).
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD systems.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools to analyse app behaviour (e.g., Crashlytics, Datadog, Splunk, etc.).
• Exposure to containerization and cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure/GCP).
