Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Analyst to oversee and enhance quality in the UK mortgage underwriting process. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mortgage lifecycle, credit risk, income assessment, and appraisal analysis, with a strong focus on ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence through structured audits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform quality audits on mortgage underwriting files to ensure adherence to client and investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, etc.)
• Validate credit, income, assets, liabilities, and collateral documentation for completeness and accuracy
• Track and analyze error trends, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
• Collaborate with underwriters, processors, and leadership teams to ensure high-quality delivery
• Drive calibration sessions with operations and client-side QA teams
• Prepare audit reports, dashboards, and performance summaries
• Support training teams with insights to improve quality and reduce defects
• Ensure compliance with US mortgage regulations and internal policies

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Graduate in any discipline (Commerce/Finance preferred)
• 4 to 8 years of overall BPO experience with at least 2 years as a QA in UK Mortgage Underwriting
• Strong knowledge of underwriting standards (FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac)
• Familiarity with mortgage documents – 1003, 1008, credit report, W2s, pay stubs, tax returns, appraisal, title, etc.
• Proficient in MS Excel, audit tools, and reporting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability
• Exposure to compliance and risk assessment in mortgage domain
